Canterbury is a Cathedral City in Kent. The beautiful Gothic style Cathedral is the oldest in England and forms part of Canterburys UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the ruins of St Augustus Abbey and St Martins Church.
Timber framed houses line many of the streets of Canterbury but specific places of interest include Conquest House in Palace Street which is where the Knights who murdered Thomas Beckett gathered and also the Weavers House, reportedly built in the 1500’s as three houses. Probably one of the most well known buildings in Canterbury is the Kings School building. The building leans quite dramatically and looks as if it would benefit from a visit from our Structural Surveyors.
Of course Canterbury is not only about its historic buildings it is also a vibrant bustling city with a vast array of shops, restaurants, bars and clubs.
