Harrogate


Harrogate is a Spa town in North Yorkshire which became particularly popular and prosperous during the Victorian era. In 1842, the Royal Pump Room was built by Isaac Shutt and is located in Crown Place bounded by Crescent Road and Royal Parade . Today the Pump Room acts as a the towns museum and showcases  the history of Harrogate. Another example of fine architecture is the Grade II Listed Royal Hall Theatre, an important national heritage building that was restored in 2007.

Cambridge Street, Oxford Street, Beulah Street and James Street are home to high street shops whereas smaller independent shops and boutiques can be found 0n Parliament Street and in the Montpellier Quarter. Bettys Tearooms is a popular tourist attraction.
